Definition: An Apostille is a specialized certificate issued by a Secretary of State that attaches to a domestic public document to verify its legitimacy so it can be legally recognized in foreign countries that are members of the 1961 Hague Convention Treaty.

- State Tier Legalization: The finalized package is presented directly to the Department of State or Secretary of State portal for final security certification stamping.
